| Complaining |
Unhappy with your divorce solicitor? You bet...
The complaints service branch of the Law Society claims to be an independent body. Saying that, seven out of fourteen members on the regulatory panel are still legal practitioners.
So, now that the parliamentary bill for reform of the complaints system has been passed, it is only a matter of time before the new independent complaints system takes effect. Still, the most recent complaint which has come to our attention, shows no signs yet of any great progress. The Law Society's complaints office seems to have sprung several heads, or sub stations: Complaint Centres 1, 2 and 3, sending the fed up consumer on a mysterious round trip leading nowhere in particular. But don't despair, if you get no joy after two years on the circuit, they destroy your file. It could be the best thing that ever happened to you.
